Clocky Runaway Alarm Clock...

For folks who have a difficult time waking up from a deep sleep. The Clocky is a unique alarm clock on the move. At first Clocky will sound just like any other alarm clock, but if you hit the snooze button to get a few minute more sleep, then Clocky will start to run away from you. You will have to get up and catch it, so to turn it off.
Zero Gravity Wall Climber...

Remote controlled vehicles have just leaped into the twilight zone, because unless my eyes deceive me, this remote controlled Hummer is climbing walls. The Zero Gravity Hummer knows no boundaries; because when flat ground isn't exciting enough this vehicle will do what no other remote control has gone before - right up the wall. Yes, you heard right, but I suggest that don't let your kids catch wind of this, because I expect it would give a whole new meaning when you cry out “stop driving me up the wall”.
Radia Circular Cell Phone by Michael Laut...

don't even know where to start with this unusually unique concept cell phone. So, let me begin with its circular shape, and then next lets jump right over to its very cool touch-display and its brushed aluminum outer rim with built-in microphone that extends 180-degrees around its perimeter, which actually leaves me speechless beyond this point.
Air Mattress...

For the geeks that want the most futuristic sleeping arrangements available, then you need not look any further, because this bed levitates 16 inches above the floor using magnetic fields. The sleek, simplistic design and the $1.5 million dollar price tag probably make this the most expensive bed you'll ever own.
Flying Stick Camera...

gadget jarred an old childhood memory of playing with a flying toy called the Whirly-Bird, but the one that I played with wasn't as cool as this one is. The Flying Stick has a built-in camera that snaps photographs as it twirls through the air. Currently, just a concept prototype with possibly military and mainstream market potential. That is, if the price isn't too high

MAINGEAR Unveils Luxury Gaming PC for the Living Room...

Radio Head...

Radiohead made big news with their recent release of their “In Rainbows” album as a pay what you feel concept. They offered the possibility to either purchase the actual CD or download the music DRM free for a price that you decide (as low as free or as high as you wish).
For those that are also interested in the previous albums, they are now available as a box set, in a USB drive or a 320 kbps DRM free download. These also come with some additional live recordings, which are not available on the regular albums.
Unlike In Rainbows, this is not free. The Box Set goes for $83, the download is $73, and the 4GB weird looking USB is a whopping $166.
For those that do not have the albums yet, shame on you, for the die-hard collectors…fork out your wallets.

HI-TECH DOOR BELL...

Welcoming guests and visitors at the door are usually the name and address boards of the house and door and another unique way of welcoming people would be to install this HI-TECH DOOR BELL GADGET which has an inbuilt Visitor Statistics Display. This doorbell, can provide basic information on total visits and time of visit etc, which could be important to some.
Would you like to opt for this unusual doorbell depends entirely on whether you want others to know who visits you ;). Inspired by visitor statistics on websites, this doorbell can have extended usage in terms of security. It is definitely an idea way ahead of its time and may find a more decorative-to-have usage now.

Apple will market its new iPhone 3G S starting June 19(TODAY)...

Steve Jobs was not present but there was much expectation until the last minute. Apple executives Phil Schiller and Scott Forstall had called a meeting with the media. The meeting was supposed to talk about software development but the Apple representatives ended up revealing some technological novelties of the company. Among them, and maybe the most important, the arrival of the third-generation iPhone. And, as usual, they made the announcement when all the Apple stores around the world had their doors closed.
The third-generation iPhone, a new version of the smartphone that revolutionized the mobile Internet industry, is now called iPhone 3G S. It will be available for sale in United States and other selected countries (such as Spain) starting June 19. Its price will oscillate between US$ 199 (143 Euros) for the 16GB model and US$ 299 (215 Euros) for the 32GB model. The price of the current iPhone, which is called iPhone 3G, will be also modified; for example: the iPhone 3G with 8GB Memory will cost US$ 99 (71 Euros).
The “S” at the end of the name (3G S) suggests a speed improvement (S for speed) coming with the new version that has the same design and a “greener” battery with a longer lifetime. The deficient 2-megapixel camera is now replaced by a better camera with auto-focus, auto-exposure and “tap to focus” (you can tap an item in the photo to focus on it); besides, the camera is able to record video (with audio) at 30 frames/second, which is a great novelty. A voice control feature offers hands free operation. Other features include digital compass, data encryption, edition tools for your videos, and mercury-free LCD.
The improvements in the operating system for this smartphone are intended to satisfy the user’s needs and avoid the frequent complaints about the current models. Users will be able to use the iPhone 3G S as a modem in a computer.
In case you lose it, there is a service that shows the physical location where the smartphone is being held. This feature is especially attractive because it also allows users to delete their data by using a remote connection when they cannot recover their phones.
The new iPhone also supports commands such as “undo”, “copy” and paste”, which were strongly requested by some users of the other versions.
The Bing.com Search engine...

Microsoft, recently launched a new search engine called Bing! It is currently in beta format. With Google dominating the world of search engines, does the new offering from Microsoft stand a chance?
If you read the marketing notes about Bing, it states it has a new look and feel. Yet for my money, the search engine home page, had more than a passing resemblance to Google’s. The only real difference was that there is a picture in the background, and the word ‘Bing’, was used instead of Google. If you read the marketing notes about Bing, it states it has a new look and feel. Yet for my money, the search engine home page, had more than a passing resemblance to Google’s. The only real difference was that there is a picture in the background, and the word ‘Bing’, was used instead of Google.
To see what kind of results Bing would give me, I typed in the name of my website, without out the ‘www’s or the ‘.co.uk’ part. I happen to know that should you search for this on Google, I am number one on the page rank.
On Bing I did not even feature on the first page, and by the time I reached page six, I gave up. In fact comparing the results of Bing and Google, apart from the odd site, the two search engines did not correspond at all.
This is interesting, because this shows that bing searches on a different criteria to Google.
As Apple and Microsoft have often ‘borrowed’ from each other for the developments of their operating systems, so it appears Microsoft have borrowed from Google. Images, Maps, and Shopping, are all available in very similar formats on Bing.
A nice touch from Bing is that if you hold your mouse over one of the page listings it gives you a brief preview of the site. So you can tell if its what you were looking for.
Taking on Google, does feel a little pointless, not only do Google do a sterling job but they are everybody’s favourite search engine by a mile.
For Bing to have a chance, it will need to provide either an alternative way to perform searches, and so present results that are more relevant than what Google provides. Or copy Google completely, but provide more features and services.
Do you feel Bing will be the search engine of the future?

Intel Plans Core i7-950 Replacement in Q4...

Intel is planning to launch the Core i7-960 in Q4 as replacement for Core i7-950, as the company doesn’t think the performance difference between Core i7-950 (3.06GHz) and the upcoming Lynnfield (2.93GHz) is big enough, according to fudzilla:
Running at 3.2GHz, Core i7-960 features 4.8GT/s bus speed, 8MB of L3 cache, and its maximum turbo overclocking speed of single core is 3.46GHz. Besides, the CPU has 130W TDP.
The performance of Core i7-960 is supposed to be weaker than Core i7-965, as the 960 only has bus speed of 4.8GT/s compared with 6.4GT/s on Core i7-965, and the new Core i7-960 won’t be multiplier unclocked.

PDA phone: Is Palm Pre better than iPhone?...

Surprisingly, Palm, which is a company that seemed to have been forgotten in these times, has released a gadget that is more powerful, more elegant and easier to use. The Pre, which is available for sale in United States at the Sprint stores for about $200 (with contract), makes easier a lot of things; things that users want to do quicker.
WebOS, the new Palm operating system, allows to open and work with several applications simultaneously. The programs are organized as an array of bars that stick out from the screen and users can go from an application to another by sliding the finger. For example, if you are writing an e-mail and you want to see a calendar, then you can toggle between the e-mail application and the calendar easily, and whenever you want.
On the other hand, with the Apple iPhone, you can only open an application at one time. And if you need to toggle from an e-mail to the calendar, then you must close the e-mail application in order to open the calendar by using the main menu.
Acer laptop with a 3D screen...

Acer has the intention of using and taking advantage of the 3D technology that is being used by television shows and movies right now. The company is planning to launch a laptop computer next winter; and that laptop will feature a 15.6-inch 3D screen.
The new computer will also have built-in software that will allow to watch 3D movies in a correct manner and, in addition, it will be able to convert a 2D movie into the 3D format. That was confirmed by Campbell Kan in a Taiwanese magazine called Digitimes.Kan is the vice president of Acer’s mobile computing business unit. However, the company spokesmen in United States have not said anything about this laptop or about Kan’s words.
If this is true, Acer would not be the first company to offer a laptop with 3D capabilities anyway. In 2003, Sharp launched its Actius RD3D laptop with nearly identical 3-D rendering capabilities.
The Actius RD3D was targeted mainly at car designers, architects and biotechnology researchers. But even with that very limited target group, it was not well-accepted by its potential users and later Sharp decided to abort the production of the computer.

Samsung Corp., one of the world’s leaders in the digital technology, has recently unveiled the new Samsung i780 Smartphone which is specially designed for people in the corporate world.
The handset is equipped with the latest Windows Mobile 6 Professional platform which provides its users with high-speed data transfer. This feature gives users literally unlimited options to where their office should be. Whether surfing the internet or doing office functions, the Samsung i780 process data with ease. Users can send important E-mails through 3.5G data connection, service network providers, or WI-FI connectivity.
The Smartphone offers heavy internet users with ultra high-speed internet connection and faster downloads each time they use the WI-FI connectivity options. The device also allows corporate people to read their news while on the go using Podcasting and RSS Reader, which can be personalize depending on what the users want.
The Windows Office option can also be utilized by users efficiently using the QWERTY tactile keypads. Other connectivity options are the USB 2.0 port, and upgradeable MicroSD external memory slot. Although it has no TV-out, the device can connect to printers and other devices using Blutooth connection.
Another amazing features of the Samsung i780 is it 2.55-inch (262, 144) display interface with 320×320 resolutions, which is two times more powerful than what competitors offer in the market today.
The device also packs outstanding combination of photo and video recording using its 2.0 megapixel camera.

Samsung P400 Portable Projector...

Despite its small size exterior (2.5×5.8×5.7 inches), and lightweight features—only 2 lbs, the gadget can fit comfortably the palm of the hand. The size and weight combination makes the P400 a highly portable device.
One of the most amazing features of the P400 is its LED light projector that can last for more than 20, 000 hours. And because the device uses a LED light source, the projector uses to least amount of energy while preventing over-heating.
Meanwhile, one of the most notable feature of this projector is its brightness that can reach up to 115 lumens or about 77 percent of its 150-lumen maximum output. It also has a very good contrast ration considering its small size.
Setting up the P400 is not a problem since it’s a plug and play device. Users will only have to setup the projector in a presentation screen or even a blank wall. The maximum image projection is about two meters wide, which is more or less 98 inches (13 feet away). However, the device has no zoom features so users may have to move the gadget back and forth in order to achieve the desired image size.
Other adjustments in the video quality and audio clarity may be done by “credit card-sized” remote control or the touch-sensitive control panels, which is built-in on top of the P400. However, the touch-screen control is a little let-down for the device since it is really difficult to come up with the desired specification. (This may be attributed to the lack of tactile feedback.)
Inside the box includes, VGA cable, a remote control, audio connector, and pretty much anything that is needed in a video presentation. An additional composite video connector and RCA phono jacks for high-quality stereo audio input is also included to the gadget.

Bluetooth Retro Handset ...

Okay, so apparently this Bluetooth stuff is named after a 10th century king of Denmark who enjoyed eating blueberries a bit too much, resulting in blue stained teeth. Harold "Bluetooth" Gormson helped to unite Sweden, Norway, and Denmark much like the way Bluetooth helps to unite your wireless gadgets under a single standard. And did we mention that the Bluetooth logo is composed of the rune characters representing his initials - H and B. But that's enough useless trivia for today - let's move onto something much more important!

Just around the corner was supposed to be a shining technology utopia with flying cars, personal space travel to distant galaxies, and bio-implantable cell phones. It's almost disappointing enough to make you sit at home and watch old episodes of "Space 1999".
Don't lose hope! An amazing glimpse of this promised future has just arrived at ThinkGeek in the form of the Bluetooth Laser Virtual Keyboard. This tiny device laser-projects a keyboard on any flat surface... you can then type away accompanied by simulated key click sounds. It really is true future magic at its best. You'll be turning heads the moment you pull this baby from your pocket and use it to compose an e-mail on your bluetooth enabled PDA or Cell Phone. With 63 keys and and full size QWERTY layout the Laser Virtual Keyboard can approach typing speeds of a standard keyboard... in a size a little larger than a matchbook.
